My house smells like poo…..puppy poo

by dyeramy on November 25, 2008

And it’s starting to make me nauseous. There is a distinct difference between adult doggy poo and puppy poo. The adult poo smell is there, and it’s potent at times, but it can come and go. Take for example this past Friday. Donna brings Tajjee up to bathe her before a show in Springfield this past weekend. After her bath, we’re sitting in the living room and Tajjee is laying in the middle of the floor and it smells like she is letting bombs fly. And it’s very pungent, but I lost it when I went into the kitchen. I thought she was just gassy. At 10 o’clock, I go to get in bed, and lo and behold, a big pile of poo on MY side of the bed on the floor! Why MY floor and why MY side of the bed? I mean, my God, she had been walked a couple of times, and she has to choose that particular location to relieve herself?

Then the puppy poo. It kind of just hits you when you walk in the door. No matter how many times the newspaper is changed, the smell just kind of lingers like a bad fart. Coming from the couch cushions. It’s just that bad. And the little shits have radar.

“Oh, look, that human is picking us up and putting us in those buckets. She’s gonna change the newspaper! Quick, everybody don’t pee or poop, clean papers coming!’

And that’s what happens. It doesn’t matter how much time you give them to their “business” after they eat, it could be an hour or two, you put clean papers down and it’s party time! Time to pee all over and defecate. Let’s make my house a pissing ground for Saint Bernards why don’t you?

But tonight, I was greeted by the scent of some pumpkin spice candle when I came home from work. It was kind of…….refreshing, if you will! Then Matt told me that he just changed the papers. So, the poop-party started while I was cooking dinner for the girls…..and then I wasn’t so hungry anymore! We are starting to understand why some breeders put the pups outside at 6 weeks.

We are “hoping” to get some pictures of them up very soon. I have been working A LOT lately, almost a smidgen too much, and we just haven’t had time to clean them up for the camera. Stay tuned!

EEEWWWWEEEEE!!!! Poop is just the worst! The joys of breeding… blahhh.

Thank goodness Saints are so easy to potty train when they get a little older. My boys would sooner die than poop in the house. Its the dadgum labs I have to watch… 1 with IBD and one thats just a wicked witch…

Only a couple more weeks and they get to go to their homes.
