The waiting has begun. We are officially one week away from her first due date. This is the part that I did not care for the last time. I hate not knowing when the pups are going to start coming! I was actually this way when I was pregnant for Rowan last year. My due date came and went and it just kept getting further away! It was driving me insane, but I always had the end point in sight and that was November 7th. She had to be out by then because it was exactly two weeks past October 25th. So when they scheduled my induction for the 6th of November, my contractions, of course, started on the 6th at 2am. In grand style, she was still born the next day, on the end point that I had in sight the whole time! It just dawned on me this morning that it is conceivable that she could start whelping as early as next Monday. I don’t know why I hadn’t thought of this before. Well, actually I do. I’m trying not to think about it so much after everything that happened last time. I figure if I don’t obsess about it too much, things will turn out much better. Let’s hope that holds true and she has healthy pups this time! We’ve brought her inside today and have started the temperature taking. She’s not nesting in her whelping box yet, but I’m sure that’s not far away. She’s looking very HUGE and her teets are full of milk, so much that they are leaking a little. So the end point for Polly is next Friday with a possible c-section, but let’s hope she doesn’t have to endure that!
