Sleeping through the night, way through the night

Rowan has been on 5 bottles a day now for awhile, maybe since she was 3 months. I had been toying with the idea of dropping her last bottle at 10pm for a long time now, but could never come up with the right time, right night, right mood, right whatever. I started her solids 3 times a day last week and the whole breakfast thing just threw her right off. She wouldn’t eat as heartily at the breakfast table like she did with lunch and dinner. So last Saturday, I ditched the last bottle. It was really hard to make that decision. I don’t know if it was just the fear of her waking up at 3am demanding to fed or the fact that I wouldn’t see her for 12 hours. She is the sweetest girl there is, one that you could hold and rock all night.

So I climbed into bed at 10pm Saturday night bracing for the worst. I tossed and turned, of course that isn’t helped by the fact that Matt is up watching the game, which means I have two dogs in my bed, one snoring. I thought I heard her around 11, but the monitor lights weren’t showing anything. I kept waiting for that girl to cry and whine and want her bottle. And then all of a sudden, it’s 7:30am and I hear Brenna’s little V-tech computer and Brenna singing. And the sun was shining and Luci’s face is in mine wanting to be let outside. I quickly get up and go upstairs to get Brenna dressed and then we both went into Rowan’s room and she was still sleeping! And she awoke in Rowan style with a big grin on her face and laughs when I tickled her chin! The world was going to be alright! And she finally ate breakfast!
