Matt (hubby) has convinced me to go to the New England Saint Bernard Club Specialty Show this coming weekend. I agreed to it reluctantly after Polly lost her pups on my birthday. Since then, Brenna (3 1/2 years) has reverted to peeing in her pants while at home with me. She doesn’t do it for the babysitter. Just me. So I’ve used the old “Stop peeing in your pants if you want to go to the dog show” card with her and it isn’t working. The only thing that has come remotely close is setting the timer every hour and herding her in the bathroom to go. Needless to say, this is an exhausting task since she takes a good 10-15 minutes to go #1.
We are going to Hamden, CT on Saturday and staying the night and the show is Sunday. This whole trip is going to be interesting. This will be Rowan’s (6 months) first long car trip and it may be my last! I’ve been threatening Matt with not going because of Brenna’s escapades, but it’s inevitable that we are going. There are a lot of dogs that I’m interested in seeing, one being Ch. Marianette’s Habitual Offender, AKA Duncan. That’s who we bred Polly to in February and who we are going to breed again to when she comes back in.
The only saving grace is that we aren’t showing any dogs of our own. That was a bit of a disappointment to my neighbor when she agreed to take care of the dogs for us! She thought she would only have a couple to feed, but nope, have all four Kimmy!!! You can do it, especially if I can with the girls!
So all of you going to the NESBC Specialty, I officially apologize in advance for the foul mood that I may be in and the unforseen temper tantrums that my daughter may have! But I really do look forward to seeing everyone and the dogs!
